PetroVietnam signs oil and gas exploration contract with Malaysian and Indonesian partners.
The Vietnam Oil and Gas Corporation (PetroVietnam) signed an oil and gas exploration and exploitation contract for lots 10 and 11.1 with the Petroleum Investment and Development Company (PIDC) of PetroVietnam, Petronas Cargali Overseas Bhd (PCOSB) of Malaysia's National Oil and Gas Company, Petronas, and Indonesia's National Oil and Gas Company, Pertamina, in Hanoi on January 8.
Lots 10 and 11.1 cover 7,915 square kilometres in Nam Con Son basin on Vietnam's southern continental shelf.
This was the 44th contract signed by PetroVietnam with foreign partners since Vietnam issued the Law on Foreign Investment in 1988.
It was the first contract signed under a co-operation programme among PetroVietnam, Petronas and Pertamina on oil and gas exploration and exploitation in Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia. (VNA)
