Vietnam, Canada hold annual consultative meeting

Vietnam and Canada held their annual high-level consultative meeting for development co-operation in Ottawa, Canada, on June 10-11.

The two sides reviewed the implementation of development co-operation projects, particularly those for agriculture and rural development and hunger eradication and poverty reduction.

They noted that development co-operation between the two countries has developed fruitfully, contributing to enhancing multi-form co-operation between the governments and peoples of Vietnam and Canada.

They agreed to join efforts in mapping out a framework co-operation programme to be approved by the two governments by the end of this year. Under the framework co-operation programme, Canada is likely to provide official development assistance (ODA) for Vietnam's recently approved Comprehensive Poverty Reduction and Growth Strategy.
