Saigon Port has completed the installation of a mobile crane, believed to be the largest in the ASEAN region, on December 14.

The crane, a Gottwald MKH 300E, has arms reaching 50 metres and is able to lift 100 tonnes, allowing it to handle 25 containers or 540 tonnes of cargo per hour. The crane is valued at US $2.17 million.

The Gottwald Corporation and the Unico Handels GmbH of Germany transferred the crane to the Saigon Port authority to use at Tan Thuan port in the afternoon of December 12.
