At a presentation of Mekong Green, Robo and Vinacom laptops in HCM City on November 21, Intel Vietnam released that local laptop market had expanded 39% so far this year. Local assemblers, supported by Intel Vietnam, can supply laptops at prices 30%-40% lower than well-known foreign brands with the same configuration. These companies can also assemble made-to-order notebooks and are optimistic about the local market potentials. Intel Pentium III-M, a chip designed specially for notebooks, is used in locally made laptops.
