buy Vietnamese coffee
(VET- 04/09/2001)- Several Indonesian coffee exporters in Lamlung ,where 60
percent of thetotal 320,000 tons of
coffee for Indonesian exports had to buy coffeefrom Vietnam to
realise their contracts which had been signed earlier withother companies.
According to the Jakarta Post on September 3 Mr.Nuril , vice chairman of the
Indonesian Coffee Exporters Association(AEKI)
revealed that thesituation came from the fact the price
of Vietnamese coffee bean is 300
rupiath to 500 rupiath / kg ( equivalent to VND494 to825/kg ) cheaper than that
from the Indonesia.
Thefact the Indonesian exporters become importers is only a short lived, because according to the newspaper in Lamlung at present the coffeeplantation owners keepin stock from 50,000 tonsto 60,000 tons of coffeebeans due to low price. In the last two weeks each kg of coffee loadedon board the vessel, the exporters in Indonesia incurred loss of 3,000Rupiath because they sold coffee according to the contract at 8,400rupiath while the buying price was at 11,400 rupiath
