Indonesianexporters buy Vietnamese coffee 
(VET- 04/09/2001)- Several Indonesian coffee exporters in Lamlung ,where 60 percent  of thetotal 320,000 tons of coffee for Indonesian exports had to buy coffeefrom Vietnam to  realise their contracts which had been signed earlier withother companies. According to the Jakarta Post on September 3 Mr.Nuril , vice chairman of the Indonesian Coffee Exporters Association(AEKI)  revealed that thesituation came from the fact the price of Vietnamese coffee bean is 300 rupiath to 500 rupiath / kg ( equivalent to VND494 to825/kg ) cheaper than that from the Indonesia.

Thefact the Indonesian exporters become importers is only a short lived,because according to the newspaper in Lamlung at present the coffeeplantation owners   keepin stock  from 50,000 tonsto 60,000 tons  of coffeebeans due to low price. In the last two weeks each kg of coffee loadedon board the vessel, the exporters in Indonesia incurred loss of 3,000Rupiath because they sold coffee according to the contract at 8,400rupiath while the buying price was at 11,400 rupiath
