Handicrafts, fine arts hit 48% export increase

Vietnamese rattan and bamboo products have become
 famous in many countries in world. 

Export value of handicrafts and fine arts hit quite a high growth in the first half of this year. Total export turnover for the sector stood at US $170 million, or 48% more than that of the same period last year.

Russia and Eastern European countries remained main markets for handicrafts and fine arts exports, including pottery, bamboo and rattan, and embroidery products. Meanwhile, the Japanese market prefers bamboo and rattan furniture and woollen carpets. According to exporters, North America and the Middle East are potential markets for rattan products and lacquers.
