THREE JAPANESE COMPANIES WIN
CONSULTATION CONTRACT ON BUILDING CAN THO BRIDGE
Ha Noi, Aug. 26 (VNA) -- Three Japanese
companies - Nippon Koei Co. Ltd., Chodai Co. Ltd., and TEDI and TEDIS - have won
a consultation contract on building the Can Tho bridge over Hau river, a
tributary of the Mekong river, to connect Vinh Long and Can Tho provinces.
The contract was signed in Ha Noi on Aug. 26 by the My Thuan
project managing board and the three Japanese companies.
The bridge, which is 2.75km long and 23.1 m wide and the second
spanning over Mekong river, will have four lanes for vehicles and two others for
passengers. It will be built in March 2003 at a cost of 37,006 billion JPY (318
million USD) from Japan Bank for International Cooperation's loans.--Enditem
