Aquaproducts output value inMekong Delta in 2005 estimates US$1.5 billion
(VET- 5/3/2002)- As forecast, value ofaquaproducts output value in Mekong Delta region including provinces of Kien Giang, CaMau, An Giang, Ben Tre, Soc Trang estimates to reach amount of US$1.8 billion accountingfor 53 percent of the total figure of the country . The Government sets target foraquaproduct cultivation areas of the region will reach 700,000 ha, yielding output of 1.7million tonnes with value of US$1.5 billion. To reach the target, frozen factories andinfrastructure in the region are planned to be upgraded.
